Pharmacokinetics Oral absorption of Sulfadiazine is found to be 100% . Volume of distribution is found to be 0.36 l/kg and plasma protien binding is 20 - 55%. Presystemic metabolism is noted to be 25.5% ±12.5 and metabolism is reported Hepatic. Plasma half life is 7 - 12 hr. Oral absorption of Trimethoprim is found to be 90% ±5. Volume of distribution is found to be 12-18, 70-100 litre and plasma protien binding is 42-66%. and metabolism is reported 60-70%. Renal Excretion accounts for 70% and plasma half life is 9-10 hr.
