NORTRIME is the trade name of Co-trimoxazole, an antibacterial antiprotozoal combination. Co-trimoxazole is a fixed 5 to 1 ratio of the bacteriostatic agents Sulphamethoxazole and Trimethoprim.

Each NORTRIME Tablet contains 480mg Co-trimoxazole, comprising 400mg Sulphamethoxazole and 80mg Trimethoprim.

Each 5mL of NORTRIME Suspension contains 240mg Co-trimoxazole, comprising 200mg Sulphamethoxazole and 40mg Trimethoprim.

CHEMISTRY

Sulphamethoxazole is: N'-(5-methylisoxazol-3-yl)sulphanilamide.

Trimethoprim is: 5-(3,4,5-Trimethoxybenzyl)pyrimidine-2,4-diamine.
