Jordan Pharmacists Association Honors Ladies Pharmacists at Pharmaceutical Industry
Women Affairs Committee at Jordan Pharmacists Association calibrated honoring of 14 Ladies Pharmacist working in a Leadership position at different establishments related to Pharmaceutical Industry, Including Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Companies, the Jordanian Union of Pharmaceuticals Manufacturers, and the Jordanian Food and Drug Administration.
The activity involved talks by Dr. Najwa Al Showbaki (Head of the women Affairs Committee), then Dr. Zaid Alkilani Head of Jordan Pharmacy Association who handed the Honor Shields to the nominees, this was followed by a talk over with the honoured pioneers exploring their experiences, challenges, and contributions.
The Jordanian Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Company (JPM) was represented in this meeting, by two distinctive ladies; Pharmacist Lina Al Nabulsi the Technical Director at JPM, and Pharmacist Taghreed Al Barqawi the Executive Marketing Manager at JPM
During the interview Dr. Al Nabulsi emphasised the challenge of working in new and pioneering fields at the R&D Department leading the team towards creativity and innovation led by Dr. Adnan Badwan the general director of JPM, the outcome of such efforts were many patents registered for JPM. Dr. Al Nabulsi played major role in establishing local regulation affecting the Pharmaceutical Industry particularly in the fields of Quality (GMP), Registration and others, her input in technology transfer to pharmaceutical industry in the developing world is remarkable.
Dr. Al Barqawi on the other side described the pioneering role of the JPM in having Ladies working as Medical Representative in the Jordanian market, “this stemmed out of the belief in our ability to do the job”, said Dr. Taghreed answering a question on the challenges faced going through this experience. She pointed out the importance of integration of the Marketing Department with other Departments especially R&D and production.
Among the honoured pioneers was Dr. Zakia AL Kurdi (Currently Technical Director at Pharma- International), Dr. AL Kurdi built up her professional career at different managerial positions including working as commercial, and Marketing Executive Director at JPM
