Indications

Rheumatic disease treatment: The treatment of acute or chronic rheumatoid arthritis.

The relief of acute or chronic osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, or juvenile arthritis.  NOXEN does not affect the progressive course of arthritic disease. Concurrent treatment with an adrenocorticoid or a disease-modifying antirheumatic agent may be necessary, depending on the condition being treated and patient response.

The relief of mild to moderate pain, especially when anti-inflammatory actions may also be desired, e.g., following dental, obstetric, or orthopedic surgery and for the relief of musculoskeletal pain due to soft tissue athletic injuries (strains or sprains). NOXEN is also indicated in the relief of mild to moderate bone pain caused by metastatic neoplastic disease.

The treatment of fever: NOXEN is indicated for reduction of fever

The relief of pain and inflammation of acute gouty arthritis. NOXEN does not correct hyperuricemia.

The treatment of painful nonrheumatic inflammatory conditions, such as: athletic injuries, bursitis, tendinitis, capsulitis, synovitis, or tenosynovitis.

The relief of the pain and other symptoms of primary dysmenorrhea by initiating therapy as rapidly as possible after the onset of menses.  Prophylactic therapy has not been found to provide additional benefit.
